6月半ば、妊娠8ヶ月の終わりに箱根に宿泊して来ました。
「去年娘0歳で連れて行った彫刻の森美術館にもう直ぐ2歳の娘を連れて遊ぶ」ことが最大目的の一つ。
彫刻の森には、「体験型アート作品（子供たちが中に入って遊ぶことができる造形作品。 遊びの中に自然に、色彩や光の生み出す美しさや造形の面白さを発見する）」がたくさんあります！前回それを見て、遊ばせたい！なんなら私も子供と一緒に遊びたい！と思ったのが、また箱根に来る強い動機になりました。

改めて、彫刻の森美術館とは？
＞大自然を生かして1969年に開館した、国内ではじめての野外美術館(オープンエアーミュージアム)です。 箱根の山々が望める7万㎡の緑豊かな屋外展示場には、 ロダン、ムーア、ミロなど、近・現代を代表する彫刻家の名作約120点が常設展示 （Webサイトより抜粋）
山の中にあるので、高低あり、かつ、とっても広い！！娘の昼寝時間と、私の下がりまくりの体力を見込んで、どこを回るか目星をつけておきました。
ベビーカーで行く場合、階段のコースを通れなかったりするので、事前に知っておくと便利です。皆さんも乳児と回るコースの参考にどうぞ！
In mid-June, at the end of my eighth month of pregnancy, we stayed in Hakone.
One of our main purposes was to take our soon-to-be 2-year-old daughter to the Hakone Open-Air Museum, which we took her there last year when she was 0 years old.
The Hakone Open-Air Museum offers many “interactive art installations (sculptures that children can enter and play with, discovering the beauty of colors, light, and form in a natural and playful way).” When I saw these installations last time, I knew I wanted my daughter to experience them. In fact, I wanted to play with them myself! This became a strong motivation for us to visit Hakone again.
Let’s revisit what the Hakone Open-Air Museum is all about.
The museum was the first outdoor art museum in Japan, opened in 1969, utilizing the surrounding natural landscape. Within the expansive 70,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space, you can find approximately 120 masterpieces by renowned sculptors such as Rodin, Moore, and Miró (excerpt from the website).
Located in the mountains, the museum has varying elevations and is quite spacious! Taking into account my daughter’s nap time and my own fatigue, I planned which areas to explore.
If you are going with a stroller, you may not be able to go through the stairway course, so it is helpful to know in advance. You can refer to the following information for your own reference when touring with an infant!
入り口 Entrance
ベビーカーは、普通の入り口とは違うエレベーター口から入場します。
正面向かって右にこんな入り口があるよ。
Baby strollers are admitted through the elevator entrance, which is different from the regular entrance.
You will see this entrance on the right as you face the front of the building.
彫刻の森に入場してすぐ、有名なこの顔のアートがあるのですが、娘はそこは無視（笑）
As soon as you enter the sculpture forest, you will see the famous artwork of this face, but my daughter ignored it. Lol
その奥にある、このアートに一直線！ここ数ヶ月で覚えた歌「どんな色が好き」を踊り付きで披露していました。こうやって、何に反応するかを見るのも楽しい。
She went straight to this artwork at the back of the building! She danced to the song “What Color Do You Like” that she has learned in the past few months. It’s fun to see which art she reacts and how.
この階段降りるアートにもハマって、2周してました。母よありがとう。She was also into this stair climbing art and did two laps. Thank you, Mother.
「ポケット」Pocket
という、椅子がたくさんあるエリア。カラフルな椅子に全部座りたい娘。This is an area with many chairs called “pockets. My daughter wanted to sit on all the colorful chairs.
有名な虹のオブジェがあります。《宇宙的色彩空間》というそうです。
去年ここで0歳の娘と写真を撮ったのですが、今年はもう動いて動いて写真を撮るのも大変（笑）。
でも、他の子たちもこのオブジェを通って走り回ったり、とっても気に入ってました。
There is the famous rainbow sculpture. It is called “Cosmic Color Space”.
Last year, I took a picture of my 0-year-old daughter here, but this year, she moved so much that it was hard to take a picture of her .The other children also liked it very much, running around the object.

虹のオブジェの横の遊具も、楽しみすぎてなかなか出てきませんでした。

The playground next to the rainbow object was also enjoyable, and we stayed there for a while.
「星の庭」” Garden of Stars”
迷路。大きな子供が走り回ってるので乳児が歩くのは少し大変かも。夫が肩車して楽しみました。これも気に入ったようで、More More！もう一回！と連発してました。
It is a huge maze. It might be a bit challenging for infants to walk through because older children run around inside. My husband enjoyed carrying our daughter on his shoulders. She liked it too and kept saying, “More, more! One more time!”
「ネットの森」”Forest of Nets”
＞大断面集成材を積み上げた木造ドームの中に、カラフルな手編みのネットがいくつもつなぎ合わされた巨大なハンモックの造形が組みこまれた「ネットの森」は、造形作家・堀内紀子と建築家・手塚貴晴＋手塚由比によるコラボレーションから生まれました。（Websiteより）
結果として、1歳（月末2歳）の娘からすると少し早いかな？周りの子は小学生が多く、かつ大人がこのクッションエリアやネットの中に入れないのでサポートすることもできず、すごい勢いで走ってくる小学生たちとぶつからないかオロオロしながら見ていた、というのが本音です。でも本人はそんなこと気にせずに楽しんでたし、大丈夫かも。
＞This is a collaboration between the sculptor Noriko Katsura and architects Toshharu and Yui Tezuka. It features a large hammock made of colorful hand-knitted nets inside a wooden dome made of laminated timber beams (excerpt from the website).
In the end, it might have been a little early for my 1-year-old (almost 2 ) daughter. Many elementary school children were running around. But she really enjoyed.
彫刻の森美術館カフェThe Sculpture Forest Museum Café
その後、カフェの窓側の席でランチを食べました。
彫刻の森美術館にはあまり飲食店が多くなく、ここと、入り口近くにある建物の中にレストラン２つ（ビュッフェ&普通のお店）です。このカフェも空いていましたが、おにぎりを持ってきても良いかも。ただ芝生は入れないので、食べられる場所は限られます。カフェの二階は持ち込みOKだそう。
ちなみにカフェのマフィンやホットドッグ、とってもおいしかったです！野菜入りで良かった。
Afterward, we ate lunch at a table by the café window.
There aren’t many dining options at the Sculpture Forest Museum, except for this café and two restaurants in a building near the entrance (a buffet and a regular restaurant). The café wasn’t crowded.It might be a good idea to bring your own food too but be careful there are limited places where you can eat them as you cannot sit on the lawn. 2nd floor of the cafe is possible to bring food in and eat them.
By the way, the café’s muffins and hot dogs were delicious! It was great that they had vegetables in them.

結構お湯が温かくて、まったり。あまり混んでいませんでした。The water was quite warm, and it was relaxing. It wasn’t too crowded.
「幸せを呼ぶシンフォニー彫刻」” Symphony Sculpture”
ここ大好き。うっとりします。
私は妊婦で登れなかったので、夫と母が代わりに娘を連れて登ってくれました。ここは抱っこでした。
I love this place. It’s enchanting.
Since I couldn’t climb it myself due to pregnancy, my husband and mother took turns taking our daughter up. They had to carry her.
娘も何度もうっとりと見上げていました。My daughter was captivated, looking up at it multiple times.
前回0歳の時はただ寝てました。笑 Last time, when she was 0 years old, she was just sleeping. Haha.
朝6時半に起きて部屋で軽食→ホテルの朝ごはん、そしてたくさん遊んでカフェで食べて大満足したのか、この後ベビーカーでぐっすり２時間ほど寝てくれました。
なので、有名な目玉焼きのオブジェなどは遊ばせられずでしたが、こちらは移動がスムーズに行きそれはそれで助かりました。
We woke up at 6:30 am, had a light breakfast in our room, had hotel breakfast, played a lot, ate at the café, and were completely satisfied. Afterward, my daughter slept soundly in the stroller for about two hours.
So, we couldn’t let her play with the famous fried egg sculpture and such, but it made moving around much smoother, which was also helpful.

実は車椅子に乗ったんです Btw, I was on wheelchair.
実は前日の箱根ユネッサンで動きすぎてしまった私、前夜ホテルで前駆陣痛になってしまいました。もう妊娠後期と言っていいのでそれ自体は珍しくないんだけれど、夫の勧めで彫刻の森美術館で車椅子を利用しました。
車椅子、ベビーカーともに、名前を書くだけで、無料レンタルできます。妊婦という身分で借りていいものかと思いましたが、実際山で高低が多く歩くのは全て無理だったなと思うので、借りて良かった。
妊婦は無理しないのが一番ということで、夫が押してくれました。それでも歩数見たら結構歩いてたから、やっぱり借りて良かった。
The day before, I had been moving too much at the Hakone Yunessun, and I started experiencing pre-labor contractions at the hotel in the evening. It’s not uncommon at this stage of pregnancy, but my husband suggested using a wheelchair at the Open-Air Museum, not to get too tired.
You can borrow wheelchairs and strollers for free by simply writing your name. I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to borrow one as a pregnant woman, but considering the uneven terrain and slopes in the mountain area, it would have been impossible to walk everywhere, so it was good that we rented one.
The most important thing for a pregnant woman is not to overexert herself, so my husband pushed me in the wheelchair. But when I checked my step count, I realized that I had walked quite a bit, so renting the wheelchair was definitely a good decision.

娘は、「ママも大きいベビーカー、おんなじおんなじ」と大喜び。My daughter was delighted, saying, “Mommy also has a big stroller, just like mine!”
数が足りなそうだったら遠慮しようかなと思っていたものの、これ以上にたくさん用意されていました。ちなみに左はベビーカーの貸出し。In case there weren’t enough, we were considering refraining from using it, but there were plenty available. By the way, on the left is the rental area for strollers.
まとめ
というわけで、よちよち歩きから、よく動くようになった2歳近い子供でも、もちろん小学生でも
彫刻の森はやっぱりキッズ天国でした！！
そして、今回は私自身も思いがけず、彫刻jの森美術館のバリアフリー体験もしてしまいました。
月曜日でしたが結構子供が多くて驚いたので、午前中に行って良かったかも。時間が経てば経つほど増えました。とはいえ、天気さえ良ければそこまで混むこともなく、ほんとに気持ちいい場所です。
また二人目の子供も連れてきたいな☺️
whether it’s a toddler just starting to walk or an active 2-year-old, or even an elementary school student, the Sculpture Forest is truly a kids’ paradise!!
And unexpectedly, I also had a barrier-free experience at the Sculpture Forest Museum.
It was Monday, and I was surprised to see so many children. So, it was a good decision to go in the morning. As time passed, more people arrived. However, as long as the weather is good, it doesn’t get too crowded, and it’s a truly pleasant place.
I would love to bring my second child here as well. ☺️
ここでは体験型アートばかりを載せましたが、美術館なのでこれ以外にものすごくたくさんの展示、彫刻があります。それを見て歩くだけでも楽しいので、全世代にお勧めです！
I only included interactive art experiences in this post, but since it’s an art museum, there are many other exhibitions and sculptures. Just walking around and seeing them is enjoyable! I can recommend here to every generation!
箱根で宿泊したのは？
箱根は東京から日帰りもできますが、今回の私のように妊婦だったり、温泉でゆったりしたい人は宿泊がおすすめ。
今回は箱根ハイランドホテルに泊まって、すごーく良かった（かつお得だった）のでお勧めです。

彫刻の森美術館とは、ドアtoドアのバスがあるのも良いところ。20分強くらいかな？ こちらも敷地が広くて景色と自然を楽しめ、サービスもよく、すごく満足度が高かったので、ぜひ見てみてね。
Hakone can be visited as a day trip from Tokyo, but for those like me who were pregnant or wanted to relax in hot springs, I recommend staying overnight.
This time, we stayed at the Hakone Highland Hotel, and it was really great (and reasonably priced), so I highly recommend it.

One good thing about the Sculpture Forest Museum is that there is a door-to-door bus service. It takes about 20 minutes or so. The grounds are spacious, allowing you to enjoy the scenery and nature. The service is also excellent, and we were highly satisfied, so be sure to check it out.
