At the Vulcanized London 10th Anniversary Party in Aoyama, on 6th September, I found many fine products as GLOBE-TROTTER’s suitcase, SMYTHSON’s stationaries and so many.
If I pick three keywords from this store( I do not say it is just a “Select store” but it is more like “Style Store”), it’s “Classic”, “Gentlemen” , and “Analog”.
It’s interesting. Britain is a first country which succeeded in mass production in 18C, and they know how to produce efficiently, and uniformly. Mass production enable to make many things digital. I guess, that is one of the reasons why they found the worth to be “Analog” earlier than other countries paradoxically.
Mass production is always convenient, and Analog is not.
In fact, suitcase with wheels may be convenient than one without it. Maybe you do not need to buy a diary if you have smartphone calendar.
However, as world go to more and more digital, people are willing to pay something analog.
Is not it more CLASSIC or LUXURY to do it analog than following digital one after one?
Maybe, this is is the BRITISH LUXURY they are suggesting to us.
