11月なかば、義父母が来日。それに合わせて、8月に生まれた次女もホテルデビュー。一泊目は憧れのPark Hyatt Tokyoにすることにしました。
東京都庁至近の高層ビル、新宿パークタワー39階から52階に位置するパークハイアット東京は、国内外問わず多くの人たちに愛され続ける日本を代表するラグジュアリーホテル。全室42階以上の高層階に加え、45㎡以上の広さです。
In mid-November, my in-laws visited Japan, and to coincide with their visit, we decided to give our second daughter, born in August, her hotel debut. We chose the long-envied Park Hyatt Tokyo for our first night’s stay.
Situated on floors 39 to 52 of the Shinjuku Park Tower, a high-rise building near the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Park Hyatt Tokyo is a representative luxury hotel in Japan, cherished by many both domestically and internationally. All rooms are located on floors 42 and above, boasting a spacious area of at least 45 square meters.
憧れ、そしてレストランやカフェに通い、ついに宿泊！
私がパークハイアット東京に憧れていた理由はもちろん、Lost In Translation（2003年のソフィアコッポラ監督、スカーレット・ヨハンソン、ビル・マーレイ主演）という映画に出てきて素敵だったから。
特に有名な、52階にあるThe New York Grill &Bar は若い頃から何度か訪問。
2年前には、歩いて10分という近所だったこともあり、子供の数ヶ月記念や雛祭りの時にランチビュッフェに行ったり、1階のカフェに行ったりと、身近な場所では有りました。（カフェのアップルパイは隠れ名品！）
でも、泊まったことはなかったので、今回は行く前から楽しみにしていました！
Finally, after admiring and frequenting its restaurants and cafes, I had the opportunity to stay at the Park Hyatt Tokyo! The reason behind my admiration was undoubtedly the charming portrayal of the hotel in the movie “Lost In Translation” (directed by Sofia Coppola in 2003, starring Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray). The renowned restaurant on the 52nd floor, The New York Grill & Bar, had been a familiar place for me since my youth.
Although I had visited the cafe and dined there on various occasions, including celebrating my child’s monthly milestones and Hina Matsuri, this stay was a unique and anticipated experience. Despite missing out on a suite room upgrade due to full occupancy, we stayed in a Deluxe Type King room on the 46th floor—a spacious 55-square-meter area with calming interior tones.

パークハイアットは少し面白い形になっています。
ロビーラウンジが４１階にあり、その階の一番奥に座ってチェックインができるエリアがあるのです。

お部屋 ROOM
私たちは46階のお部屋に宿泊。World of Hyatt特典で、スイートルームにアップグレードされるか、、と思いきや、満室とのこと。
宿泊したのはデラックスタイプキングの客室。55平米ゆとりある空間で、落ち着いた色調のインテリアでまとめられています
部屋が大きいのはもちろんですが、ストレージルームが大きいのが嬉しい。この日はベビーカー2台で来た為、大きい荷物部屋がありとても助かりました。
お風呂も広い！外資系高級ホテルによくある、シャワーは別部屋で、ここは温まる用のバスタブです。ストレージ、バスルーム、そして寝室と部屋がつながっています。
Not only was the room spacious, but the large storage room was particularly helpful. As we had brought two strollers on this day, the generous storage space was greatly appreciated. The bathroom was also spacious, featuring a common layout in upscale international hotels with a separate shower and a bathtub for relaxation. The storage room, bathroom, and bedroom seamlessly connected, enhancing the overall experience.

私たちは４６階のオペラタワー側の部屋。こんな絶景で授乳できるって贅沢。富士山もくっきり見えました。
We stayed in a room on the 46th floor facing the Opera Tower—such a luxurious experience to breastfeed with such a breathtaking view. Mount Fuji was clearly visible as well. Let’s take a look at the room reserved for my in-laws, who were on another floor!

こちらは、新宿御苑や明治神宮を見下ろす角部屋。
ロストイントランスレーションもこの形の部屋でしたね。
Their room overlooked Shinjuku Gyoen and Meiji Shrine, situated in a corner location. It reminded me of the room shape featured in Lost in Translation.
KIDS AMENITY 子供用アメニティ
オムツ箱、おもちゃ、赤子ハンドタオル、赤子スキンケアやシャンプーセット、そして何よりオムツ！2人分、しかもステータスによりチェックイン12時チェックアウト16時までとロングステイになるので、本当に助かるんです。ハイアット系ホテルにはオムツは大体あるので、事前電話して確認がお勧めです。
“Diaper pails, toys, baby hand towels, baby skin care and shampoo sets, and most importantly, diapers! We have two children, and we have a long stay from 12:00 PM check-in to 4:00 PM check-out, so it’s really helpful. Diapers are generally available at Hyatt hotels, so it’s recommended to check in advance by phone
そういえば、お部屋に置いてあったプレゼントも嬉しかった。ただ、左にある鍵がおしゃれだけど少し変な形で、携帯やお財布につけづらいのが難点でした。
By the way, I was delighted with the gift placed in the room. However, the stylish key on the left had a somewhat unusual shape, making it a bit challenging to attach to my phone or wallet.
このおやつも美味しかった・・・お顔怖いなと思ってたんだけれど、よく考えたらエレベーターにいるキャラクターと同じだった！パークハイアットのキャラなのかな？
The snacks were delicious too! I initially found the character’s face a bit intimidating, but upon closer inspection, I realized it’s the same character as the one in the elevator! Perhaps it’s a Park Hyatt mascot?

パークハイアットのお部屋、いかがでしたでしょうか。都庁のど真ん中、そして眼下には広大な緑がいくつも広がるパークハイアット。
サービスレベルも、さすがハイアットの中のカテゴリ最上級だと思いました。
せっかくGlobalist（一番上のクラス）になったのに、満室でスイートにアップグレードされなかったのは実はちょっと残念でしたが、まあそれを超えるほどの素敵なお部屋でした。
実はここ、２０周年。インテリアや家具、全部とても綺麗で困ることはなかったけれど、確かに古さも少しあるので、来年2024年の1月からは改装工事が行われるそうです。
次は改装後にまた行ってみたいな！
What did you think about the Park Hyatt room?
Located right in the heart of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government area, with vast greenery below, Park Hyatt truly offers a unique experience. The service level, being the highest category within the Hyatt brand, lived up to expectations. Although it was a bit disappointing not to get a suite upgrade due to full occupancy, the room was fantastic beyond that.
Interestingly, this year marks the hotel’s 20th anniversary. While everything, from the interior to the furniture, is still immaculate, there’s a plan for renovations starting January 2024, addressing the slight aging. I’m looking forward to visiting again after the renovations!
