こんにちは！4月なかば、3歳と1歳の子どもたちを連れて、初めての福岡へ家族旅行に行ってきました。
美味しいもの、楽しい遊び場がいっぱいで、あっという間の5日間（最終日は少し早めに切り上げました）。
子連れ目線での記録ですが、これから福岡へ行く方の参考になれば嬉しいです。
Hey there! Here’s my recap of our first family trip to Fukuoka with our 3-year-old and 1-year-old in mid-April. We had five days packed with good food and fun places—though we cut the last day a bit short. If you’re planning a trip to Fukuoka with kids, hope this helps!
【1日目】福岡到着！都会のオアシスとキラキラな夜の街へ Day 1: Arriving in Fukuoka—City Oasis & Sparkly Night Out
お昼過ぎ、福岡空港に到着！ホテル グランドハイアット福岡のラウンジにてチェックインしてコーヒーや甘いものを摂取し、お部屋に荷物を置いたら、早速街へ繰り出します。
まずは、都会の中に緑豊かな空間が広がる住吉神社へ。 静かで落ち着いた雰囲気で、散策するのにぴったり。子どもたちも少し歩けてご機嫌でした。
We landed at Fukuoka Airport just after lunch. After checking in at the Grand Hyatt Fukuoka (the lounge coffee and sweets were a lifesaver), we dropped our bags and hit the city.
First stop: Sumiyoshi Shrine. It’s this peaceful, green spot right in the city—perfect for a stroll, and the kids loved stretching their legs.
その後は、大きなショッピングモール「キャナルシティ博多」へ。 お店を見て回ったり、噴水ショーを眺めたり。キラキラした雰囲気に子どもたちも興味津々！近くにあった小さな公園でも少し遊んで、初日は早めにホテルへ戻りました。
Next, we wandered over to Canal City Hakata, a huge shopping mall with a cool fountain show. The kids were totally into the lights and sounds! There’s even a little park nearby for a quick play break. We called it an early night and headed back to the hotel.
夜はグランドハイアットのラウンジにて美味しいビュッフェをいただきました。マーケットエフというレストランで作っているそうで本格的です。
食後、夫は九州が初めてなので、中州の屋台を見せるために少し夕飯後に散歩しにました。小さい子連れだと屋台は少し厳しいけれど、まあ大きくなったらね！
Dinner was a buffet at the Grand Hyatt’s lounge—super tasty, and apparently made by the restaurant “Market F.” Afterward, my husband (it was his first time in Kyushu!) and I took a quick walk to see the famous Nakasu yatai (street food stalls). Not really doable with little kids, but maybe next time!
【2日目】柳川で川下り＆うなぎ！天神・大名をお散歩 Day 2: Yanagawa River Cruise & Unagi, Strolling Tenjin & Daimyo
2日目は少し足を延ばして柳川へ。 すごく楽しみにしていた「水郷柳川観光」の川下りを体験！どんこ舟に揺られて約1時間、船頭さんのお話を聞きながらゆったりと進みます。水路から見る景色は風情があって、本当に最高でした！（大人一人2,000円、帽子は一人100円）途中アイス屋さんにも寄ってくれます。1時間かかるので長いかなと思いましたが、飽きずに楽しめました。夫は、小さい子供たちが川に落ちないかずっと心配していましたが。
We took a little trip out to Yanagawa for a river cruise. The boat ride was about an hour, and the boatman’s stories made it fly by. The scenery from the water was beautiful, and even the kids didn’t get bored. (My husband was a bit nervous about the kids falling in, but all good!)
Lunch was at a classic unagi (eel) restaurant, Wakamatsuya. It’s a bit pricey, but you can find cheaper spots if you walk further into town.

お昼は、老舗の若松屋へ。一人前3,900円からと少々お高め？でも、街の奥の方に行くと値段が下がっていました。
午後は、旧柳川藩主立花家の邸宅「御花（おはな）」へ。立派な建物とお庭を見学。（大人一人1,200円）
大広間が有名なのですが、なんと我らだけで独占できました。それくらい、混んでなかった！
After lunch, we checked out Ohana, the old residence of the Yanagawa lords. The gardens and big hall were gorgeous—and we had the place almost to ourselves!
シャトルバスで「西鉄柳川駅」へ戻り、電車で博多へ戻りました。 「天神」、「大名」エリアをお散歩。友人繋がりのアーティストさんのギャラリーにご挨拶に寄ったり、公園で少し遊んだりして過ごしました。下北のような、裏原のような。カフェもたくさんあり、おしゃれなカフェやお店もたくさんあって、歩いているだけでも楽しいエリアです。
Back in Fukuoka, we strolled around Tenjin and Daimyo. Lots of cool cafes and shops, kind of like Shibuya or Shimokitazawa in Tokyo. We even popped into a friend’s art gallery and played at a park.
この日の夜はまたグランドハイアットにて。
【3日目】無料の遊び場と広大な公園！そして友人宅へ Day 3: Free Play Spaces, Huge Parks & Dinner at a Friend’s Place
午前中は、地元の方のおすすめで、天神にある無料の児童館「福岡市立中央児童館 あいくる」へ。 広々とした室内にたくさんのおもちゃや遊具があって、まさに天国！3歳も1歳も夢中になって遊んでいました。雨の日やちょっとした空き時間にも最高の場所です。
In the morning, we hit up “Aikuru,” a free kids’ center in Tenjin. Tons of toys and space to play—total heaven for the little ones, and perfect for rainy days or downtime.
お昼は再び「キャナルシティ博多」へ。5階にある「ラーメンスタジアム」で、いろんなお店のラーメンを食べ比べ！
Lunch was ramen at Canal City’s “Ramen Stadium”—so many kinds to try!
午後は、福岡在住の友人夫婦が車で迎えに来てくれて、「海の中道海浜公園」へ！ とにかく広い！たくさんの大型遊具、動物とのふれあいコーナーもあって、まさに「こどもの国」のよう。子どもたちは大喜びで走り回っていました。大人としても、すごく楽しい！
夜は、海の中道からも近い「アイランドシティ」にある友人のタワーマンションへお邪魔しました。このエリア豊洲みたい。最近開発されて新婚層、ファミリー層がたくさん購入してるんだとか。
実はここで新婚の友人夫婦が旦那さんの美味しい手料理をいただきました。彼らと会うのが今回の旅の一番の目的だったので嬉しかった。
In the afternoon, our local friends picked us up and took us to Uminonakamichi Seaside Park. It’s massive, with big playgrounds and even a petting zoo. The kids ran wild, and honestly, we had a blast too.
Dinner was at our friends’ place in Island City, a newly developed area that feels a bit like Toyosu in Tokyo. The highlight of the trip was catching up and eating homemade food together.
【4日目】海の中道公園を再満喫！夜は博多グルメ Day 4: More Park Time & Hakata Food
前日にすっかり気に入った「海の中道海浜公園」へ、今度は路線バスで向かいました。
昨日はまだ半分しか行けてなかったことがわかりました。本当に遊具も多くて広くてすごい！この時期はネモフィラ、ポピー、チューリップが満開で、お花畑もとっても綺麗でした。子どもたちは広い芝生や遊具で思いっきり遊び、親もリフレッシュ。
We loved Uminonakamichi Park so much, we went back—this time by bus. There were still parts we hadn’t explored! The flowers (nemophila, poppies, tulips) were in full bloom, and the kids had a blast on the grass and playgrounds.
On the way back, the kids napped on the bus. We stopped by Aikuru again (yep, it’s that good for little kids).
帰りは天神までバス一本で約40分。バスの中で子どもたちはお昼寝タイムに突入 Zzz…
天神について、またまた「福岡市立中央児童館 あいくる」へ（笑）。乳幼児にちょうどいいおもちゃ、そして広すぎず親としても見守りやすく助かりました。ちなみに我が家、金沢でも京都でも、旅先でいつも現地で児童館お邪魔してます。現地のママパパたちとも話せたりして楽しいです。
最後の夜ご飯は、博多名物を一度に味わえる居酒屋さん「とり酒場 博多華善 かどの華善」へ。 名物のぐるぐる鶏皮串、もつ鍋、明太子にごまカンパチ…どれも美味しくて大満足！
キッズチェアはありませんでしたが、子ども用の食器やフォークなどは用意してくれました。
On the way back, the kids napped on the bus. We stopped by Aikuru again (yep, it’s that good for little kids).
For our last dinner, we went to a local izakaya, “Tori Sakaba Hakata Kazen Kado no Kazen,” where you can try all the Hakata specialties—chicken skin skewers, motsunabe, mentaiko, and more. No kids’ chairs, but they had kids’ plates and forks, which was nice.
【5日目】予定変更…早めに帰路へ Day 5: Change of Plans & Heading Home
最終日は、「福岡アンパンマンこどもミュージアムinモール」か「キッザニア福岡」か、あるいは広い「大濠公園」でのんびり過ごそうかと計画していました。
ところが、下の子が鼻水と咳で少し風邪気味…無理は禁物なので、予定変更して大名エリアにある小児科へ連れて行きました。（すぐに診てもらえて助かりました！）
その後は、軽食を食べてそのまま福岡空港へ向かい、少し早めの便に変更して東京へ帰ることに。
福岡空港は、天神や博多といった中心地から地下鉄で本当にすぐ（15分もかからない！）なのが素晴らしいですよね。アクセス抜群です。その近さゆえに、福岡市内には高い建物を建てられない高さ制限があるという話も納得です。
We planned to visit the Anpanman Museum, KidZania, or Ohori Park, but our youngest caught a bit of a cold. So, we went to a nearby pediatrician (super easy to find in Daimyo), grabbed a quick bite, and headed to the airport early.
Fukuoka Airport is so close to the city—just 15 minutes by subway from Tenjin or Hakata!
福岡空港、１１番ゲートの近くにキッズコーナーあり。ANAのピカチュウもいて、小さいエリアながらとても楽しんでました。There’s even a kids’ play area near Gate 11, and the kids loved the ANA Pikachu.
最後に、福岡の訪日客（インバウンド）の様子を。A Few Notes on Fukuoka & Tourists
福岡空港に最初ついた時には「あら福岡って外国人全然いないんだな」と思ったのですが、それは見た目が日本人と似た中国・韓国の方が多いことに私が気づいていなかったのでした。グランドハイアットは、他の都市と同じくまた9割以上外国人。東京・京都・箱根などだと欧米人が多いですが、ここはアジアの人が多いです。ラウンジでよく隣の席になる韓国人の家族とよくお話して仲良くなりました。
街を歩いてても特に韓国語・中国語をよく聞きました。
柳川の船でもうなぎの店でも隣の人と話してみるとシンガポール人。日本全国いろんなところまで行ったことある、日本マニア、でした。よく柳川まで見つけるよね。逆にいうと日本人観光客が柳川少なかったです。
最近できたリッツカールトン福岡にも寄りましたが、かなり訪日客を意識していると感じました。例えば私が泊まった大阪のリッツカールトンはイギリスフランスの内装イメージで、当初日本人客を意識して作ったことが伺えましたが、福岡はいわゆる「ザ・日本」を押し出していて、それは海外客を迎えるためでしょう。実際訪日客が多かったです。
福岡はアジアに一番近い日本の都市だよ、と友達がよく言っていましたが、それを実感しました。
At first, I thought there weren’t many foreign tourists, but actually, there are lots of visitors from Korea and China—they just blend in more than Western tourists. The Grand Hyatt was packed with international guests, mostly from Asia. We even made friends with a Korean family in the lounge.
In Yanagawa, we met a family from Singapore who were total Japan fans. Funny enough, there were more foreign tourists than Japanese in some spots!
We also checked out the new Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka, which really leans into the “Japan” vibe for overseas guests. It was busy with international visitors, too.
Fukuoka really is Japan’s gateway to Asia—you can feel it everywhere.
まとめ：子連れ福岡旅を終えてみて Wrapping Up: Fukuoka with Kids
今回は5日間の滞在（最終日は早めの帰宅となりましたが）でした。福岡の中心部（博多・天神周辺）はかなりコンパクトにまとまっているので、駆け足なら3日間でも主要な場所は回れるかもしれません。
私たちは歩くのが好きで、ベビーカーを押しながら色々な場所へ行きましたが、博多も柳川も坂がほとんどなくフラット！これは子連れには本当にありがたかったです。
天神や大名の一部は賑わっていますが、それ以外は思ったほど混雑しておらず、ゆったり過ごせました。電車やバスも分かりやすく、本数も多いので移動はとてもスムーズ。柳川までも電車一本（特急で約47分）で行けたので楽でした。
コンパクトな街を歩いていると、「天神らへんはは東京でいう渋谷かな」「天神の反対側は銀行多くて大手町かな」「大名は裏原宿や下北沢みたい」「中州の奥は新宿歌舞伎町か」「この路地は美味しいレストランが多くて中目黒や池尻大橋あたりかな」なんて考えます。歩くだけで色々な街の雰囲気が味わえるので、博多来たら街歩き、おすすめです！
本当は、せっかく九州に来たのだから近隣の県にも足を延ばしたかったのですが…。でも、小さい子連れで移動が多いと疲れてしまって、一つ一つの場所をゆっくり楽しめなくなりがちとタイ・マレーシアの経験上よく分かっているので、九州の他のエリアはまた別の機会に、再訪したいなと思っています。美味しいもの、楽しい思い出いっぱいの福岡旅行でした。

We stayed five days (left a bit early), but honestly, Fukuoka’s main spots are so close together, you could see a lot in three days if you’re in a hurry. We love walking, and pushing a stroller around was easy—no hills in Hakata or Yanagawa!
The city wasn’t as crowded as I expected, except for parts of Tenjin and Daimyo. Trains and buses were easy to use, and getting to Yanagawa was a breeze (just one express train, about 47 minutes).
Walking around, I kept comparing neighborhoods to Tokyo—Tenjin is like Shibuya, Daimyo is like Ura-Harajuku or Shimokitazawa, Nakasu is a bit like Kabukicho, and some alleys feel like Nakameguro or Ikejiri. It’s fun just to wander and soak up the vibes.
We wanted to explore more of Kyushu, but with little kids, it’s better to take it slow and enjoy each place. We’ll save the rest for next time!
