Hello! At the end of November 2024, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo with our 3-year-old and 1-year-old. Here’s my experience—casual but honest—like chatting with a friend. 😊
Why We Chose Hyatt Regency Tokyo
We decided to stay here the night before celebrating our 3-year-old’s Shichi-Go-San at Meiji Shrine (check out my post about that here!).
Location
The hotel is within walking distance of Shinjuku Station’s West Exit, but it doesn’t feel overly urban. Right in front is the sprawling Shinjuku Central Park—a true oasis in the city.
Shinjuku Central Park has completely transformed over the years. It now has a Starbucks, a trendy family restaurant, a lovely bakery, and even the stylish the knot hotel. Best of all, the children’s playground is fantastic—our kids love it there. Before check-in, we had a picnic in the park and let the kids play to their hearts’ content.
Checking into the Room
The lobby has a gorgeous chandelier, but sadly, the recent renovations have taken away some of its charm. 😅
Our twin room wasn’t especially large, but it had a view of Shinjuku Central Park’s autumn leaves and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
Unfortunately, since the hotel was undergoing renovations, upgrades weren’t available.
Being a city hotel, there’s no onsen or spa, so the in-room bath is super important. Thankfully, there was a proper bathtub—a must for families like ours (some international hotels don’t have one!).
The Lounge
The lounge is usually on the 9th floor but is currently on the 28th floor. The views are incredible—you can see all of Shinjuku and even Mt. Fuji on a clear day. It felt like a sky garden!
The lounge food was served buffet-style with unlimited refills. The quality and service were amazing. I’d go back just for that. 😍
We visited twice after check-in: first for afternoon tea at 3 PM and then for dinner at 5 PM.
Later, we changed for an evening concert and couldn’t resist stopping by the lounge again. 😂
Off to Opera City
That evening, we took a taxi to Opera City for a concert. We were graciously invited by the lead performer’s wife, who encouraged us to bring our kids.
Our 3-year-old listened quietly (to our surprise!), but the 1-year-old got restless. I ended up carrying them around and felt sorry for the people behind us, so we left after 30 minutes. Still, I’m grateful for the chance to introduce our kids to live music.
Afterward, we let the kids roam freely in the open spaces, and they were all smiles.
Back at the Hotel
Once back, we all changed into yukata. For some reason, our kids love oversized hotel yukata—they were so excited!
Since it was a special day, we prepared for bed earlier than usual. I had a ton of last-minute things to double-check, but it paid off because our Shichi-Go-San went smoothly!
Breakfast Buffet
Breakfast was served in the lounge-café, and it was fantastic!
We’ve stayed at various Hyatt Regency hotels, but this one takes the top spot for breakfast. There was a wide range of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. Our kids loved it too—especially the cereal (which I don’t usually buy at home, lol).
The fresh fruit, the morning sunlight streaming into the café, and the view of Shinjuku Central Park made for a great start to our day. They even provided high chairs and bibs right away—so helpful!
Fun moment: A YouTube subscriber recognized me during breakfast! They told me they booked Park Hyatt Kyoto after watching my video. It’s crazy because my channel only has about 100 subscribers. Their spouse joined later and shared that they’re heading to Kyoto next week. It made my day! 😊
Afternoon Tea & Late Checkout
After lunch, we returned to the hotel for one last round of afternoon tea. Although it was already 3 PM and we had just eaten, we couldn’t resist indulging. 😂
Thanks to our World of Hyatt Globalist status (earned by staying at so many Hyatts!), we enjoyed a late checkout at 4 PM. Over our 26-hour stay, we visited the lounge four times!
Final Thoughts
The Hyatt Regency Tokyo holds special memories for me—from hosting Lunchtrip events here to attending my first friend’s wedding.
After visiting various Hyatt Regencies this year (Waikiki, Maui, Seattle, Bellevue, and Yokohama), I can confidently say that the Tokyo lounge is top-tier.
It’s incredibly convenient with Shinjuku Station nearby and the beautiful park across the street. Whether for business or celebrating special family moments, I highly recommend this hotel.

こんにちは、2024年11月末、ハイアットリージェンシー東京に3歳1歳連れで宿泊したのでレポをします。
七五三という特別な日のために、ハイアットリージェンシー東京に前泊することにしました（明治神宮での七五三についてはこちらをご覧下さい）。
アクセス
新宿駅西口から徒歩圏内。なのに、目の前には広大な新宿中央公園が広がっていて、都会のオアシスのような場所。
新宿中央公園は過去の悪評から生まれ変わってとっても気持ち居場所。スタバやオシャレファミレス、素敵なパン屋やホテルのthe knotなどがあります。何より児童公園エリアの遊具が素晴らしく、私たちも大好きな公園です。
チェックインの前にまずはここでピクニックしてから遊びました。
部屋にチェックイン
お部屋は特に広いわけではないですが、ツインです。新宿中央公園の紅葉と都庁が見えます。
この日は改装中だったので部屋数に限りがあり、残念ながらアップグレードはされませんでした。
また、シティホテルで温泉などが付いているわけではないのでお部屋のお風呂が大事。
ちゃんと浴槽があるのが嬉しいです（外資だとない部屋もあります）。
ラウンジ
ラウンジは普段は９階、でも今は特別に２８階。新宿の景色、そして富士山までもが一望できて、まるで空中庭園のよう。
このラウンジフード、サービスで出してくださり、しかもお代わり無限なんです。ああ美味しかった、、、またいきたい。
チェックインの15時にアフタヌーンティ、17じ夕飯と2回行きました。
コンサート用に着替えてから、もう一度ラウンジで食べる人たちw
オペラシティへ
実はこの日の夜は、タクシーでオペラシティへ。
コンサートホールでとても素敵な体験をさせていただきました。
主演者の奥様から『お子様連れでどうぞ』とご招待いただいて。
3歳の娘は意外にも静かに聴き入っていたのですが、1歳の方はさすがに動きたくなってしまったので
抱っこしたりモゾモゾして後ろの方にも申し訳なく
30分で退席させていただきました。
でも、生の演奏に触れる機会をいただけたことに、本当に感謝です。
でて自由に歩き回って二人ご機嫌
ホテル
お部屋に戻ってからは、家族みんなで浴衣に着替えました。
3歳の娘も1歳の娘もホテルで着る大きすぎる浴衣が何故かいつも好きで喜びます。
特別な日の前なので、いつもより早めに就寝準備。
私は確認事項がたくさんありなかなか寝れなかったですが。そのおかげで七五三はうまく行ったということで！
朝食ビュッフェ
ラウンジ兼カフェにて。これが本当に素敵！
今までいろんなハイアットリージェンシーに泊まってきましたが、多分リージェンシーの中で一位です。
和洋中、種類も豊富で、娘は普段私が買わないシリアルがお気に入り。笑
フルーツも食べ、朝からテンションが上がっています。
窓際の席からは、朝日に照らされた新宿中央公園が見えて。
ハイチェアやビブもすぐに用意していただけて助かりました。
ちなみにこの時間帯、会場で、なんとyoutubeの登録者にお会いしたんです！ 声をかけてくれて、嬉しかったなあ。
私のyoutubeを見てパークハイアット京都を予約したといってくれました。
その後奥さんも来て、夫から送られきてみました、来週行ってきますといってくれました。
登録者数も100人ちょっとの弱小チャネルなのに、びっくりです！！

ランチの後ホテルに帰って、
ホテルラウンジでアフタヌーンティ。
15時だったのでもうあまりチェックアウトまで時間がなかったし、ランチも食べたばかりなのに、おかわりまでして家族みんなでよく食べました。笑
レイトチェックアウト
16時にレイトチェックアウトできるのはワールドハイアット会員のグローバリストという最高ステータスがあるから（我が家、ハイアット系列に泊まりまくってるたポイント貯まるんです）。
合計、26時間くらい滞在したことになり、そのうちラウンジに４回も行きました。笑
感想
実は、ハイアットリージェンシー東京は、私にとって特別な思い出が詰まったホテルです。
過去には Lunchtrip のイベントをここで行ったこともありますし、友人の結婚式で初めて参列したのもこの場所でした。
比較
ワールドハイアット会員として様々なハイアットホテルを訪れてきましたが、このラウンジサービスは間違いなく トップレベル です！
ハイアットリージェンシーは、ハイアットのブランドの中で上から3番目に位置しますが、その同じブランド内でもいろんなレベルがあることを実感します。
この1年だけでも、ハワイ（ワイキキとマウイ）、シアトル、ベルビュー、横浜のハイアットリージェンシーに宿泊しましたが、東京のラウンジは圧倒的に素晴らしいと感じました。
駅から近いのに美しい公園もあり、もちろん便利さは保証。
ビジネス目的な方はもちろん、家族で特別な日を過ごす場所として、ハイアットリージェンシー東京は本当におすすめです。
